Your next customer already asked an AI who to buy from. Were you on the list?

Axi Growth gets engineering, manufacturing and electronics companies found and chosen in the tools their buyers now use to shortlist.

We watch what ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity say about you every month, rewrite your pages so those tools can quote them, and write to the companies that are about to buy, from your own domain, with you approving each email. The consultants doing it sold engineering products for a living and will tell you which of those is worth your money.

A buyer asks an AI tool: I’m looking for your product. The tool answers with two suppliers worth trying, Competitor 1 and Competitor 2, each with a short description, and offers to compare them. Why not you?

For a subcontractor the equivalent of that year is the time between a buyer first looking for a second source and your name going on their approved supplier list, and almost all of it happens before they ring you. By the time they ring, they have already asked a search engine or an AI tool for a shortlist. The audit records which tools name you today and what to change.

The checker's list

In the audit we write the questions a buyer in your sector would type, put them to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity on your behalf, and record what comes back. These are ten of the kind we use; the Named? column is blank here because the answer differs for every company.

Ten example buyer queries put to AI tools during the audit

The report records which tools name you, who they name ahead of you, and what those firms' pages carry that yours do not.

To see which of these assistants name your company, run the free Findability Check, which puts six questions of this kind to them and emails the answers within the hour, or book the audit for the full list with the fixes.

What we do

These four get an engineering firm found and chosen in the tools buyers now shortlist with. The audit comes first and shows which of the others, if any, you need. Training, consultancy, tender support, written documents and the rest are on the products page.

Sales Engine Audit

We read your website and documents the way a buyer and an AI read them, record what the assistants say when asked for a supplier like you, and tell you what to fix first. You get a written report, a list of fixes in priority order and a one-hour call. The audit fee comes off the first invoice for anything on the products page you order within six months, other than documents, reports and bundles that already include the audit.

Findability, £750, tells you whether you are named and what your pages and documents lack. Full, £1,500, adds your enquiries and quotes for the last year, wherever they live (ERP, spreadsheet or CRM), the follow-up that happened and did not, and the shortlist your competitors appear on, so you see where enquiries come from and where they are lost; it includes the Findability Benchmark for your sector and a twelve-month plan. In person, £1,900, is the Full audit presented at your premises in a half day, travel within England included.

Website and capability pages

We write capability pages (your services or what-we-do pages) that carry the tolerances, materials, capacities and approvals buyers and AI tools search for, and a printed capability statement for tender packs and supplier questionnaires. Our consultants write the pages and check every figure with you. A five-page capability website is £6,500.

AI Visibility Monitor

Once your pages are live, we put the questions a buyer in your sector would type to the four assistants every month, and show whether they name you, against up to five competitors you name. The monthly report shows whether the fixes changed who is named, and catches the month a model update drops you. It stops at any month end.

Outbound

We watch public sources for companies that are about to buy, find the right person at each, and write a short email from research on their situation. It goes from your domain within the PECR rules, you approve every email before it is sent, and replies land in your inbox. Because engineering buyers rarely reply to a first email, one of our people can follow up the warm ones by phone and book the call. We set it up to your specification.

On Software we write to up to forty companies a month, one email and two follow-ups each; with our researcher, up to twenty-five companies a month, researched one by one. We do not send more than that from one domain.

We research and write, you approve, £2,400 a month. The software drafts, your people check, £1,100 a month. The set-up is £2,000 on either, and telephone follow-up is £550 a month.

What happens, and when

Drawn to scale, in weeks. Week one is the audit. Nothing after it is required; each stage is taken on by agreement.

  1. Week 1

Week one begins when we have access to your website and documents. You receive the written report and we go through it with you on a one-hour call.

  2. Weeks 2 to 4

We rewrite the capability pages so an AI can quote them, and agree with you which companies, roles and signals to watch.

  3. Week 5 onwards

We watch the signals, verify the contacts, write the emails and send them from your domain after approval. You get a note each week.

  4. Alongside

We run training sessions for each role, so the people answering enquiries can prepare, quote and follow up faster.

Book the audit and we confirm the start date within one working day.

Sales engineers by trade

Our consultants have spent their careers selling engineering products. The systems we build for clients are the ones we use ourselves, set up for your product and your market.

We take on a limited number of clients at a time and do not act for direct competitors of an existing client. We do not take work outside engineering.

Questions we get on the first call

If yours is not here, ask us on the call.

Five questions we get on the first call, with our answers
1

What do we get from the Sales Engine Audit?

You get a written report and a one-hour call to go through it. The report carries a transcript of what the AI tools say when asked for a supplier like you, a score of what your capability pages give an AI to quote, and a list of fixes in priority order with rough cost and effort. That is the £750 Findability tier. The £1,500 Full tier adds your enquiries and quotes for the last year, wherever they live (ERP, spreadsheet or CRM), the follow-up that happened and did not, and the shortlist your competitors appear on, so you see where enquiries come from and where they are lost. It includes the Findability Benchmark for your sector and a twelve-month plan. The £1,900 In-person tier is the Full audit presented at your premises in a half day, travel within England included.

2

What if the free check says we are already named?

Then the Findability tier is not worth your £750 and we say so in the report. The Full tier is the one that looks at your enquiries and quotes, and that is where a firm that is already found usually loses orders.

3

How much of our time does the audit take?

About two hours: half an hour to send us access and the documents, an hour on the call, and half an hour reading the report. Nobody at your end has to prepare anything.

4

Is cold email to other businesses legal in the UK, and who writes it?

Yes, to corporate addresses about matters relevant to the recipient's role, with a working opt-out, under PECR and UK GDPR. We write only to named people at limited companies, LLPs and public bodies, only to addresses printed on their own site or supplied by you, we keep a suppression list, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe. Since 5 February 2026 the maximum PECR fine has been £17.5m or 4% of worldwide annual turnover, whichever is higher, so we check every email against the rules before it goes. That is our working practice, not legal advice. A person approves every email before it is sent. The software reads the public signal and the company's website and prepares a draft of under a hundred words in your voice; with our researcher, we research, write and check it before it reaches you, and on the software tier your people check it in the dashboard. The Insights piece on PECR has the rest.

5

Can we cancel?

At any month end. Tell us by email and it stops at the end of that month. Set-up fees are one-off and nothing has a minimum term. The audit fee still comes off your first invoice for anything else you order within six months; the exceptions are in the parts list above.

The rest we answer on the call. Book the audit or run the free check first.

It wasn't better. It was justeasier to find.

More than two in five business buyers now start supplier research in an AI tool (Semrush, 2026), and the shortlist they see is drawn before anyone visits a website. The audit tells you, in writing, whether your company is on that list and what to change.
